Finally the track 'Skin' by Annalie Wilson has been released on iTunes store!

It's taken quite a long time before Annalie approved with the mix. I had a difficulty keeping the sound warm, yet clear enough for the separation between each instrument.
I think my recent purchases did a wonderful job though!!

On 23 November 2012, a recording session with Annalie Wilson at Tigersonic Studio in London!

Accompanied by Ben Hillyard (double bass), Jiří Novotný (acoustic guitar) and

Lorena Cachito (Cajon). We worked on a song called 'Save Me'.

Those photos were taken during the guide vocal take.

The session went very smoothly, it is in a process of mixing at the moment and it should be released very soon so keep checking!

in South Bermondsey where Khiyo's production work was taking place. On this particular day, Sohini and Olly were choosing an electric guitar solo for a track called 'Murshidi'. When that was done, Sohini got ready for the vocal recording for 'Bareer Kache'. Dave set up some nice microphones, going through some very nice analogue gears before the signal reaches the computer.
Sohini was sounding fantastic as you'd expect!
The photo was taken when they were choosing the E.Gtr solo takes. They look relaxed on he photo, but they were very critical of every little nuance of the notes!!

On 18th October 2012, I had the pleasure recording a sarod played by Soumik Datta, it was a part of Khiyo's upcoming album.
We worked on a song called 'Amar Protibaader Bhasha', it's an up-tempo number, the rest of the backing track were already recorded back in summer time.

It was a first time for me to record sarod, but Soumik had many experience with the recording process so I followed his instruction which was very helpful.

The band leader Olly is still in a process of deciding which take to use for the album.
I guess I just have to wait...

We worked on the tracks 'Home Ground' and 'This is the Life'.
Haven't used Logic for tracking purpose for awhile, it took sometime to get around things but overall the session went very smooth and nice! I don't usually use compressor during the vocal recording but D-Boy suggested to use one of his valve compressor so, why not!!
The recording came out very good indeed.

Annalie is planning to release 'Home Ground' with other 3 acoustic songs as an EP.

After an intense mixing/mastering work with the artist 'Matshidiso' for
a couple of months, we have started working with a singer/song writer 'Annalie Wilson'.
The first song we worked on was called 'Perfect Love', we recorded at London School of Sound which is my former sound engineering college in London.

On 13th August, I had a pleasure recording a band Khiyo at my beautiful local
church in Wimbledon. The church was equipped with stunning Steinway Model D concert grand piano.
We have recorded a handful of piano parts for their upcoming album, but the main focus was on the track 'Koto Baro' which the piano and the vocal were recorded at the same time.
It was around midnight by the time we got to this song but Sohini and Olly were real pro, they nailed some good takes with no time!
I would imagine this song will be the final epilogue of the album, it's so beautiful, can't wait for you to hear it!!

YS Sound Production has been deployed to do some editing work for a ballet show which will happens in Japan at the end of August!
Those shows involves stars from The Royal Ballet, and Birmingham Royal Ballet.
The tempo adjustments had to be spot on in order for them to dance gracefully and comfortably.
We usually use Pro Tools' elastic audio, in conjunction with the X-Form algorithm for a smooth sounding result. Those edit were done by very close communication between the producer/ dancers and us. Some of the source audio were already tempo manipulated so we had to be careful not to over do the time stretching. A lot of warp markers had to be re-adjusted in the analysis window.
Once all the edits were done, levels were adjusted so that there weren't any nasty jumps and dips in the level between the tracks, then files were dithered down to 16 Bit, and burn to a blank CD, job done!
